RepeatExplorer is developed and maintained by the Laboratory of Molecular Cytogenetics at the Institute of Plant Molecular Biology, Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences, in České Budějovice.

The laboratory studies the sequence composition, molecular organisation and evolution of plant genomes and chromosomes. Repetitive DNA is a central theme: both transposable elements and satellite repeats, examined with experimental methods alongside sequencing and the computational analysis these tools perform. The group’s own publication list and the people who work on it are on the laboratory site.

The Galaxy server

The public Galaxy server is part of the services provided by ELIXIR, the European research infrastructure for biological information. It is operated by CESNET and CERIT-SC.

Contact

For help with the server, a larger data quota, or to report a problem, write to the server administrator. If a tool fails while running, report it with the bug icon in the dataset history, which sends the job details along with the report.

Problems with a tool itself, rather than with the server, are best raised as an issue in that tool’s repository; every tool page links to its own.

Terms of use

RepeatExplorer is offered as a free, public, internet-accessible service, in the hope that it is useful, but without any warranty.

Data transfer to the server is encrypted; data storage is not. If there are restrictions on how your research data may be stored and used, consult your institutional review board or the project’s principal investigator before uploading it. For protected data, large storage requirements or short deadlines, run a local Galaxy instance with RepeatExplorer installed, or use the command-line version of the tools.
