11th RepeatExplorer Workshop on the Application of Next Generation Sequencing to Repetitive DNA Analysis
May 23-25, 2023
Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences, České Budějovice, Czech Republic
The workshop will address theoretical and practical aspects of using next generation sequencing data to analyze the repeat composition of plant and animal genomes. Special emphasis will be placed on the methods implemented in the RepeatExplorer pipeline, including hands-on exercises in using the pipeline. Participants are also invited to give short presentations of their research on the workshop topic.
The workshop will include a theoretical part and a practical training. However, the focus of the practical training will be mainly on the advanced topics of using RE and related tools. Step-by-step training on basic protocols will not be covered, as these are now available via online tutorials. Therefore, new or inexperienced users should familiarize themselves with these tutorials before attending the workshop, as described in the first part of the workshop programme.
The workshop is organized by the Laboratory of Molecular Cytogenetics of the Biology Centre CAS. It will take place at the Academy of Sciences / University campus in Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic. In case of any questions or comments please contact Jiri Macas.
